Chinese New Year parade in Amsterdam

| This year the Chinese New Year parade will be held on Saturday January 28. The lions and dragons will walk again on January 28, from 11am until approximately 5pm, on the Nieuwmarkt square in the old centre of Amsterdam, near the Chinese neighbourhood. There will also be a lot of firework, and of course food. The parade starts later after European New Year because with this celebration the Chinese celebrate the advent of the new spring. Another holiday event is the Saturday evening at 7pm - a Chinese New Year dinner in Sea Palace (floating Chinese restaurant in the water just east of the Central Station). Also, in the Concertgebouw there is a special Chinese New Year's concert, on Sunday January 29, starting at 3pm. |
