World Press Photo contest

| World Press Photo is a respectable international organization in its area and its contest has prestige status. From 28 January to 9 February judging of the 49th World Press Photo contest will take place in Amsterdam office. All entries will be judged digitally within two rounds. Chairman of the 2006 Jury is Jim Colton. Stephen Mayes is secretary. All entries will be judged in Amsterdam from by an international jury composed of 13 recognized experts in the field of press photography. This year 4,448 professional photographers from 122 countries entered a total number of 83,044 images. On 10 February, 11.00 a.m. (C.E.T.) the results of the 2006 World Press Photo contest will be announced during a press conference at the Boekmanzaal of the Amsterdam City Hall. |
