| Amsterdam legendary club Ajax met on its home field Amsterdam Arena with the Italian Inter from Milan and managed not to loose. The game finished with the score 2-2 that leaves better chances for Inter in reciprocal match in Milan. The news before match were not good for Ajax fans - Wesley Sneijder, Steven Pienaar, Zdenek Grygera and Tomas Galasek were all injured, which left the coach Danny Blind little choice of the start list of players. Now everybody in Amsterdam understands that Ajax is far from winning the Netherlands’s championship (20 points gap is too big) and Champions League is the last chance to win something this season. The beginning of the game was very hopeful for Ajax – by 20th minute they led with the score 2-0, but then Inter began its play and managed to re-establish equilibrium and the game was brought to draw. The reciprocal match will take place on 14th march on San Siro stadium in Milan, while all other matches in 1/8 will be held 7th and 8th March. It’s because Inter shares stadium with AC Milan, which plays these dates. |
