Amsterdam Chinese Tea Festival

| Tea drinking has a long tradition and is an integral part of the culture of the Chinese people. March is the month of the Chinese Tea Festival in Amsterdam. It will take place from March 5 through 19, 2006 in the Hortus Botanicus, a scenic garden near the center of Amsterdam, Wijs and Zonen in the Warmoesstraat, the street where the first tea arrived in Europe, the Women in Paradise manifestation in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Organized by the city Tea Culture House, the 7-day event will stage tea ceremonies, performances and lectures about Chinese tea customs and traditions. The last event of the festival March Tea Ceremony and film "Tea" will be on Monday, 19th March in Provadja, Alkmaar. |
