A new pub has been opened in Amsterdam: the Amsterdam Ice Bar

| The temperature inside bar is 8 degrees below zero and “glasses” are made of ice. And visitors of this bar get special clothing to withstand the cold. Also the Ice Bar has a warm lounge recover from this ice-cold adventure. The interior (designs are by Jan des Bouvrie - the well-known Dutch designer) twice a year will be renewed, because it tends to melt. And the staff will be replacing every few hours as well. In the Ice Bar Heineken will introduce a new type of beer: Heineken Extra Cold, which will be on draught from a so-called “frosted ice tap”. So, the beer is already a great success, and it will be for sale within a few weeks in various pubs and clubs elsewhere and in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Ice Bar is located opposite the Stopera (City Hall) and near Rembrandtplein, at Amstel 194-196. The entrance is E 15. |
