Floating lights in Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam

| In Amsterdam on Thursday August 17 at 10 pm children can let a floating lantern into the Prinsengracht canal. It is next to the Westerkerk Church (Prinsengracht, corner Rozengracht). The children can put their dearest wish in the lanterns. Together, in the canal the floating lanterns will make a nice light spectacle. And the wishes (of children with a serious disease) may be fulfilled by the foundation that organizes the lantern parades. The floating lanterns parade is part of the Canal Festival - Grachtenfestival. In Amsterdam this festival lasts from August 12, 2006 to August 20, 2006. And originally, this festival started 25 years ago as the Prinsengracht Concert, which is still the main event. On a floating platoon near the Westerkerk church in the Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam a free concert will be given at 9.30 pm. |
